Iowa State University’s new Student Wellness center is a one-stop shop designed to guide you on a lifelong journey of self-care so you can thrive academically and personally. Student Wellness offers classes, peer-to-peer health coaching, and information on improving your overall well-being.
Under a holistic approach, students can learn healthy eating and exercise habits but also broaden their understanding of wellness. Broader topics like techniques to reduce stress during finals, how to set and stick to a budget, or ways to build and sustain quality friendships or relationships are important life skills.
Large-group presentations, led by peer wellness educators, cover topics like joyful eating, managing stress, or personal safety. If you’re looking for help attaining personal health goals, students can sign up to meet with an Iowa State Cyde Kick, a trained student life coach. These Iowa State students have been trained in motivational interviewing and work to help others uncover their own goals and motivations for positive change.
Whether your goal is to improve your yoga practice, try going vegan for a month, or find ways to get a better night’s sleep, Iowa State Student Wellness helps you have a successful college adventure and beyond. Learn more.
